Piedmont High School was the District VI CLAS Banner School winner for the Piedmont Promise Project (3P).

Piedmont High School had a 99% graduation rate and 95% of students graduated with a college and career readiness indicator, the highest in the state of Alabama.

The football team won the 7th consecutive region championship and went on to win the state championship in 2021.

The basketball team won the 8th consecutive area championship.

The baseball team won the 10th consecutive area championship and was state runner-up in 2022.

The softball team made it to the state softball championship tournament for the 2nd consecutive year.

PHS had a winner and state runner-up in pole vaulting in state track.

PHS had three All-American Cheerleaders.

The Blue Knights performed for the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary in Orlando, FL in March 2022.

The theatre department presented ALL TOGETHER NOW! at Shell’s Downtown. Three students participated in

The district Trumbauer Theatre Festival and all three were passed on to the state competition where one received first place in his division. In the Spring, Piedmont Learning Academy and Piedmont Centerstage Society partnered to put on a production of Disney’s Moana Jr. There were seventy performers and crew and a total of six impressive performances.

Piedmont Elementary School

Piedmont Elementary School was 1 of 5 schools in Alabama named as a 2022 National Blue Ribbon School.

Piedmont Elementary School Principal, Brigett Stewart, was named Alabama’s 2022 National Distinguished Principal and has been named a recipient of the Terrel H. Bell Award for Outstanding Leadership through the National Blue-Ribbon School Program.

Piedmont Elementary School has a partnership with the JSU Early Childhood Department called “Cocky Reads” in which all first graders receive a book and a literacy activity to take home. This year we have added “Cocky Counts” to support the upcoming Numeracy Act. This partnership will be with JSU as well.

Piedmont Elementary and Middle Schools have a partnership with JSU’s Nursing Department and Sight Savers America’s KidCheck Program to provide annual head to toe health screening for PreK through 8th grade students.
